No doubt you’re familiar with “pH” the term class high school science. You may also remember that pH is measured on a scale of 0-14. Solution has a higher score is more alkaline and lower scores is extremely acidic. Actual examples of various pH levels include gastric acid having a pH of 1 (so that it can break down the proteins), water with a pH of 7 (neutral) and sodium bicarbonate at pH 12 (very alkaline) .

The body may be capable of acidosis or alkalosis. When the body holds the more acidic nature for a long period of time, minerals are more alkaline in nature (magnesium, calcium, potassium and sodium) must be removed from the body of bones, joints and other areas in an effort to start the pH of the body. By flushing these minerals from areas that are used, which results in the environment of the body which increases fatigue, inflammation and is considered a forerunner of cancer and other chronic diseases.

Lower pH (below 7) are usually created by taking the acid forming foods and beverages stress, excess or deficiency in minerals. And while the body parts of the skin, blood from the gastrointestinal tract, and others have variable pH, efforts to maintain a more alkaline pH (above 7) will help the body to function more optimally.
